The conventional wisdom is now that Mitt Romney is in trouble because he hasn’t wrapped up the nomination after four primaries and a few caucuses.
What the conventional wisdom forgets is that the nomination has not, in recent memory, been wrapped up before Super Tuesday. McCain effectively clinched the nomination on Super Tuesday in 2008, and Bush did as well eight years earlier.
Given Romney’s superior resources and the weakness of his opposition, I don’t see why this year will be any different.
