Lewyn Addresses America

A little politics, a little urbanism- I also blog 100 percent on urbanism at https://www.planetizen.com/user/63 and http://www.cnu.org/blog/194

2012 compared to 2008 and 2010:  http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424127887324894104578103850653249588.html

Gender gap increased slightly between ’10 and 12 but not sure its statistically significant: 7 pt gap in ’10, 9 pt gap in ’12 (that is, women were 9 pts less Republican than men).

Voters were much younger in 2010: 24 percent of voters in ’10 over 65 as opposed to 17 percent in 2012.   Youngest voters increased from 5 to 11 percent.  So turnout mattered.

In 2010 78 percent of voters white, in 2012 only 72 percent.
